Mary K. Isaacs - is the Director of Religious Education at Live Oak UU
Church in Northwest Austin. She is also a neighborhood leader (former President of the Oak
Hill Business and Professional Association and Austin Parks Commissioner) and writer (pens
a weekly a column of neighborhood news the Oak Hill Gazette). Mary K. is a prejudice
awareness trainer with the National Coalition of Building Institute, a skilled session
leader with bereavement groups at the Austin Hospice, and a full member of the Liberal
Religious Education Association (LREdA). Mary K. is a lifelong Unitarian. As a church lay leader - she has served on the board of a large UU church and served as a long-term youth advisor, among other roles. Mary K. was raised in a theatrical family and performed starring roles on Houstons most prominent stages by the age of ten. Her youth also included regular appearances on Houston television. She plays the guitar, piano, and various flutes and recorders. Combining a ragtime guitar style with sensitive lyrics, Mary K. is also a singer/songwriter.
