These are skits that I wrote for the class Kathleen and I (Mignon) are teaching together at our homeschooling COOP.  Please keep in mind that I wrote them late at night and for 4-7 year-olds.

Skit #1

Person 1 - Wow!  How do you do that?   That’s amazing!  Can you show me?

Person 2 - Sure!  You just do this, and then this, and then this, and there it is!

Person 1 - I can’t do it!

Person 2 - Here, let me help you!

Person 1 - No, I can do it myself.  I just can’t.

Person 2 - Here, really, let me help you.

Person 1 - OK.  Thank you!  Wow!  I can do it!   Here, can you help me again?

Person 2 - Sure.

Person 1 - Oooowww!  That hurt!  I don’t want to do this anymore!

Person 2 - OK.

Person 1 - I guess you can show me later.

Person 2 - OK.

Person 1 - See you later!  Ow!

Person 2 - OK.  I hope it heals soon!

Person 1 - Ow!  I’m sure it will!  Bye!

Person 2 - Goodbye!

 Skit #2

Lucy - Hey, Sylvia!  Hi, Janet!

Janet - Hi, Lucy!

Sylvia - Lucy!  Long time no see!   How are you?  What have you been up to lately?

Janet - Yes!  Sylvie and I were just coming to hang out!  We had no idea we’d run into you, Lucy!  How’s school going?

Lucy - I wish you wouldn’t press in that I’m still going.  Just because you two got out, doesn’t mean you’re any better!  Hmph!

Janet - Come now, Lucy, I didn’t want to upset you!  I was just wondering if it was going any better!  Are your parents showing any sign of giving up and taking you out?

Lucy - No.

Sylvia - Listen, we’re putting together a secret club, and we’d like it if you would join.  It’s called the Spy’s Club, and we put it together for all our friends who want to learn how to learn things secretly!

Janet - Yeah, we’d like for you to be part of it, if you’d like.  We could help you learn if your parents are thinking about letting you come out of school!

Lucy - Sounds pretty cool.  Do you have special meeting times?

Janet – Only when we know another club is going to meet, or we know someone will have a great talk with someone else.  We only have meetings when we know we’ll have a chance to spy!

Skit #3

Fred - Katie, celery does not go in soup!

Katie - Of course it does.  It might not always, but it’s going in this one.

Fred - Now, really, Katie, be reasonable.  You know I don’t like celery in soup, and I won’t allow any soup made in my house to have something I don’t like in it!

Katie - Well, then.  If you’re so picky about where it’s made, I’ll go borrow my friend’s kitchen and make it in there, or I’ll use the stove in the shed, but this celery is going into this soup.  I’ve already chopped it up, and it’s going into the soup I chopped it for.

Fred - Well, then.  I’ll eat the celery if you want to use it.

Katie - Oh, Fred!  You’re picky about everything!  You won’t even let me make the soup my own way!

Fred - Really, I won’t have celery in my soup!

Katie - Well, I really won’t make any without it!

Fred - So, make something else!

Katie - I will!

Fred - What will you make?

Katie – Mac & cheese.  With celery in it!

Fred - Now really!  You can’t put celery in Mac & cheese!  That’s gross!

Katie - Oh, I can’t, can I?  I will!

Fred - No!  You won’t!  I won’t let you!

Katie - Oh, yes I will!

Fred - No! You won’t!

Katie - You better believe I will!

Fred - OK. That’s fine. You do that.

Katie - OK.  I won’t. But I’ll put it in the soup! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Skit #4

Nellie - Why is it that I can’t fix it? Nate! Why can’t I fix this thing?

Nate - How should I know?

Nellie - Because you broke it!

Nate - What?

Nellie - Because you broke it! Now come help me!

Nate - What?

Nellie - Come help me!

Nate - Ok.

Nellie - No!  Not like that! Tell me, What piece broke off of this? Where did it go?

Nate - What?

Nellie – What part of this broke off? Where did it fall?

Nate - That part.  Over there.

Nellie - Oh, Nate! How could you break it so badly? This is awful! Mom’s going to kill me!  Oh, dear.  I wish I had broken it so that I would at least have done the thing I’m gonna get yelled at for doing. Nate? Could you help me?

Nate – What?

Nellie – would you come help me?

Nate – OK.

Nellie – I just need someone to hold this piece while I fix this.

Nate – What?

Nellie – Just hold this for me, please.

Nate – Sure.

Nellie – Thanks.

Nate – Sure.
