Here is a recipe for one of the things that Meggie loves to make (and eat)!

Fudge

Ingredients:

5 cups of sugar

1 large (12 oz.) can of evaporated milk

1/4 lb. butter or margarine

12 oz. (3/4 of a 16 oz. jar) marshmallow fluff

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup walnut meats

2 large (12 oz.) bags semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Step 1:

combine first four ingredients (sugar, evaporated milk, butter [margarine] and marshmallow fluff) in a large saucepan.  Stir over low heat until blended.

Step 2:

Bring to boil over moderate heat, being careful not to mistake escaping air bubbles for boiling.  Then boil slowly, stirring constantly for 5 minutes (to soft ball stage).

Step 3:

remove from heat, stir in chocolate and vanilla (and nuts if used) until chocolate is melted.  Pour into 2 buttered 9+9 inch pans and cool.

Yield: approximately 5 pounds
