It is said that youth is wasted on the young, and so it is and was.

My youth showered me with enough virtues and talents to succeed at Anything I put my heart to.

But, since my boyhood was filled with enjoyment of defying others’ cautions For my own amusement, and scaring myself so I would try, I never felt that My destination was a very pressing Meratt.

So, here I am in this dusty old grave, with only my mistakes to reflect on, And no way to change.

What is it that has to be done to urge yourself on?

And why is it that it’s hardly ever done?
