Unitarian Universalism
Unitarian Universalism is a religion that believes that everyone should have the freedom to believe what they believe openly (while still maintaning a warm enough atmosphere for others to feel OK with telling their beliefs).
The most common guidelines that UUs go by is the Seven Principles:
We believe..
In the inherent worth and dignity of every person
Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations
A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
The right of conscience and the use of the Democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all
Respect for the interdependant web of all existence of which we are a part
UUs believe that everyone is trying to be who they want to be. We know that we are looking for ways to show ourselves as who we're turning into and that we often miss opportunities to do so because we're bitter, sad or scared. In other words, we try to let people be people, and we try not to mold them to our liking.
